How To Choose A Cooler For Your Next Adventure
How To Choose A Cooler For Your Next Adventure
When you’re an avid kayak fishing aficionado, or any type of outdoor adventurer really, you can be away for days on end living in hunter/gatherer mode, surviving only off what you catch, and a few bare essentials. Although the thrill of getting through your journey without the help of anything but a rod and some solid outdoor skills is more than exciting, having some bare essentials (or some creature comforts) to go with the food that you catch is something that often crosses your mind when you are miles from nowhere.
In an adventure that has you in remote locations, or simply away from civilisation for a few days, a quality sealed dry bag can be the difference between a great day and a fisherman’s nightmare. If you’re the type of adventure seeker that likes to document everything, either with a camera, video camera, or even writing on your laptop, dry storage bags are a great solution to protection for these types of expensive items.
As you probably know, from any kayak fishing trek you have been on, that protection from the water is imperative, however there are more to dry storage bags than meet the eyes. One of their main purposes of course is to ensure that you don’t leave a blood trail behind you when you’ve caught your catch, and another is of course to keep your catch at a safe storage temperature for consumption later in the day, or week.
Choosing the right type of dry storage isn’t easy. There are so many different types, and so many different purposes for them, that it really comes down to choosing a few different bags for each purpose.
